SSL certificates: turn on HTTPS and fix a failed renewal

Every website gets a free certificate that renews itself. Here is what to do when a renewal fails.

The certificate is issued once the domain points at the website. The usual cause of a failed renewal is a redirect rule that blocks the validation path.

Steps

Open the website, then "Security", and check the certificate status.
Make sure /.well-known/acme-challenge/ is not redirected.
Choose "Reinstall" and wait for the operation to finish.
