Move a website from another provider

Move a website from another provider

Websites and hosting

Move your files and database without taking your site down.

4 min readUpdated on October 27, 2026

Your old site keeps running until the move is done and you have checked the new copy on its temporary address. Only then do you point the domain.

Steps

Open Websites, choose "New website", then "Move an existing site".
Upload the backup or enter the access details of your previous provider.
Review the site on the temporary address.
Connect the domain when you are ready.

Tip

Lower your domain records' TTL a day before the move so the switch is quicker.

Do it now

We will open the right screen in your panel.
