Use a staging copy before publishing

Use a staging copy before publishing

WordPress

Try plugins and updates on a separate copy, then publish it.

3 min readUpdated on October 12, 2026

A staging copy is a clone of your site on a temporary address. What you change there stays hidden from visitors until you publish.

Steps

Open the website, then "Staging".
Choose "Create staging copy" and wait for the copy.
Test your changes on the temporary address.
Choose "Publish to live"; we take a backup before publishing.

Tip

Orders placed while you test can be overwritten by a full publish; publish files only in that case.

Do it now

We will open the screen for bright-falcon.preview.sbra.example.
